Could we get a trophy this season?
The preseason is nearly over and we can start looking forward to another great year of football again.
Unlike in the last few years, Arsene Wenger has been quite active in the transfer market early and taken steps to avoid the drama that occurred in the last day(s) of the transfer window twelve months ago.
Cazorla, Giroud and Podolski look like great additions to the squad with the near return of Wilshere and talents of Oxlade Chamberlain shining beacons for the season ahead.
Of course, the RVP saga continues and it may be a case of our best player last year leaving once again. I still hope he stays but in any case I feel we have enough to do something special this year.

Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson feels Manchester United got lucky as to meet QPR at the weekend.

Arsenal to finally spend big?
It is being rumoured that Arsenal are finally ready to bin the wage structure that exists at the club in order to be able to compete for world class players and keep stars such as Robin van Persie.
Yesterday's loss against Sunderland makes it a nearly certain seventh year without a trophy and a gradual decline in the quality of the team is being reported as a cause for the possible policy change.
The 4-0 dissapointment in Milan last week means Arsenal have minimal chance of going to the quarterfinals of the Champions League and they are seventeen points behind Manchester in the Premier League.
The likely summer transfer targets will likely include Eden Hazard (Lille) and Mario Goetze (Borussia Dortmund). Rosicky, Almunia, Chamakh, Squillaci, Walcott and Arshavin may be players to make way.

Not looking good
Well the 2-1 loss at home to Manchester United underlined the inherent current weakness of Arsenal in general.
From the third straight defeat in the Premier League to the stadium wide dismay at the substitution of an 18 year old and another flawed defensive performance with limited penetration in offense. And once again, our lack of a proper full back came back to haunt us.
The reality is that this season still has a long way to go and it and we need to get on with it. Any remaining doubts we could amazingly finish at the very top this season are now completely gone and the focus must be only on finishing in the top four. If you feel like a punt on Arsenal, check out the odds for the Premier League of England.
Next up is Aston Villa in the FA Cup and a good chance to put this game behind us.

Thierry Henry to return to Arsenal?
For the past few weeks, Thierry Henry has been practicing with the Arsenal squad to maintain fitness during the off season in the MLS, where he currently plays.
Being around the Arsenal team, it was inevitable that the speculation about a possible return to Arsenal would surface. Until now though, Wenger never really mentioned this as an option. During the press conference ahead of the Man City game, he was asked about the possibility of a return of Thierry. This is what he said:
"I haven't even investigated that. I cannot tell you even if there is a chance because I haven't even made an approach. I do not always master all my thoughts so it has to come through my brain at some stage but I haven't been concrete on the case."
He was also adamant that Henry could still cope with the English Premier League and perform well at the level. If he was to return, he would be worth a Premier League free bet to score sometime on his return. While the chances of this move are still small, with the lack of striker options other than RVP at the moment, it would not be a bad short term loan move.

Future looking brighter

The early season crisis has been somewhat repaired by the good string of results over the past few months.
The team looks stronger defensively and the new signings are steadily contributing more and more to the team. Gervinho look very promising and RVP has been absolutely immense. Another striker in January might be just what we need.
The future now looks brighter, especially considering Jack Wilshere should be back in the near future. While we may not be strong enough for a trophy this season once again, anything lower than a top 3 or 4 finish would be very disappointing.

Manchester united striker, Federico Macheda admitted very difficult to get a place in the main squad for manchester united. because they matter, Macheda plans to consider the option on loan at the upcoming January transfer window.
"We have plenty of strikers and indeed complicated, but I understand. Welbeck continues to explode, I was injured for a month and I only played ten minutes at the weekend."
"Moving on loan in January then? There are opportunities, but I do not want to go back to Italy, I want to keep playing in England, today and tomorrow, because my future is with Manchester United." Macheda said.
